Food Production Will Be Higher

Food production will be higher which will be above 120 million tonnes of foodgrains ie., 8.75 million tonnes of extra produce. Increasing produce of foodgrain, fruits, oilseeds, fruits and vegetables will meet the demand of increase in population. Food Security Act will require about 82 million tonnes of foodgrain to feed the poor. But now the main challenge is to maintain the growth story to feed the growing population.

This year the Wheat production will be lower as last year it had broken all the records. Rice will be breaking the record as the production will be higher. Pulses production will be higher this year as monsoon was good. Soyabean production will be lower as monsoon had destroyed the crops of Madhya Pradesh and other neighbouring states.
