Delhi Government Made Road With Less 100 Crore  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday inaugurated a six-lane elevated road that was to cost Rs.247 crore but ended up costing only Rs.143 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Kejriwal gave due credit for the project to his predecessor and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit while Naidu of the BJP praised the Delhi government for completing the road on a reduced budget. The 1.6-km road on the Ring Road connects Azadpur and Prembari Pul in north Delhi. It is expected to cut down commuting time as it will bypass three major intersections at Ashok Vihar, Shalimar Bagh and Keshav Puram. Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said: "The credit for this elevated road from Azadpur to Shalimar Bagh goes to Shiela Dikshit. The foundation stone was laid in June 2013 during Dikshit's tenure. General Electric, Alstom Gets $ 5.6 Billion Deal  General Electric and Alstom have won contracts worth a combined $5.6 billion to supply India's railways with new locomotives, as the vast but dilapidated state-owned network looks to foreign companies to help it modernise. France's Alstom has been picked to supply 800 electric locomotives and will also build a factory in the eastern state of Bihar, railways spokesman Anil Saxena told Reuters on Tuesday. France Accept Blood Donated By Gay Community: France announced on Wednesday that it will no longer prevent gay men from donating blood, under the condition that they do not have sex in the preceding months. Under the new policy, men who intend to give what is known as "whole blood" — platelets, plasma, and red blood cells — must abstain from sex with another man for 12 months prior.
